Walking the Wirral Way
Have had a really nice weekend as Bex came to visit. Usually we spend some time pottering around shops buying things we don't need and spending money that we don't have! So we decided to do something a little different this weekend and walk the Wirral Way. The Wirral Way is a 12 mile disused railway line that runs from Hooton to West Kirby. We parked a car at the end and drove the other car to the start and off we went.

This was our view as we stopped for lunch.
We also had to stop several times as Bex pointed out different trees. Now I like being in the country but I'm not particulary bothered by the fact that I don't know the names of all the trees and flowers. However, this seems to trouble Bex and she makes a point to try and educate me. As she is a friend I dutifully listen for a bit but when I'm bored, I'm bored! Although I did learn one new tree - the Japanese Maple (I'm sure there were others though!)
At about 10 1/2 miles now...
We got distracted at this point and stopped for a paddle.
As there were only two of us it meant plenty of self takes. Here we are near the start looking quite fresh!
The weather was really nice. Warm and hazy.

12 miles later and we were finished albeit a little hot and with tired feet.
Later that evening we had no energy to go out so a night in front of the TV with a cold beer was just what we needed. A lovely day!

is that optional if we come to visit or compulsery? remember the last 'little' walk you took me on?!?!
Completely optional!!! Ah yes the Ingleton Waterfalls Walk - I was expecting a 4 mile stroll, not so many up and down bits!!!
